What is the U Got Brains Champion Schools Program?

It is an opportunity for students and staff of New Jersey high schools to develop campaigns to address teen driving safety. Each school developed its own project based on a topic the school chose pertaining to teen driving safety. We were looking for creative and cutting edge projects that will raise awareness and make an impact on new drivers. Schools utilized social media, videos, blogs, traditional media and other means to help spread their message.

Some ideas included sending messages via text messaging, Facebook, blogging, morning school announcements, developing safe driving slogan for t-shirts for classmates to wear, bracelets, making videos and posting on YouTube, etc.

Why do we sponsor this campaign?

  • In New Jersey, a teen crashes every 10 minutes.
  • Car crashes are the #1 cause of death and disability in teens.
  • One teen dies each week on New Jersey's roads.
