About the Champion Schools Program

The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey, along with our generous sponsors, congratulates the 59 2015 Champion Schools from across the state for their successful teen safe driving campaigns. These diverse peer-to-peer projects focused on the causes of teen crashes and offered solutions to reduce the number of teen injuries and fatalities on our roadways. Special congratulations go out to our three Grand Prize Winners: Jackson Memorial High School, Red Bank Regional High School and the Lenape Regional High School District. We were proud to partner with the following high schools this year, representing 16 counties throughout the state. Thanks to all of the returning schools that have shown a commitment to building a culture of teen driving safety within their schools and communities and to all of the new schools that participated for the first time. We invite new schools to join us by applying now for next year!   Click to apply.

What is the U Got Brains Champion Schools Program?

It is an opportunity for students and staff of New Jersey high schools to develop campaigns to address teen driving safety. Each school will develop its own project based on a topic pertaining to teen driving safety. We are looking for creative projects that will raise awareness and make an impact on new drivers. You can utilize social media, videos, blogs, traditional media or other means to help spread your message. Your imagination is the only limit!

There are just a few rules – so read them carefully!

Questions? Drop us an email or call 732-745-0200.

New for this year:

Participating schools can now access all of the information for their projects, including guidelines, instructional videos and helpful resources through the new user Champion Schools Portal, click here.

Why We Need Your Help…

  • Car crashes are the #1 cause of death and disability in teens
  • In New Jersey, a teen crashes every 11 minutes.
  • One teen dies each week on New Jersey’s roads.

This program is presented by The Brain Injury Alliance of New Jersey. Funding is provided by The New Jersey Division of Highway Traffic Safety with support from our founding sponsor, New Jersey Manufacturers Insurance Company and our platinum sponsors, The Allstate Foundation and DriveSafer.
